Cabbage Kugel

1 head green cabbage
water
4 eggs slightly beaten
2 onions chopped and sauteed
1/4 cup cooking oil or margarine
1/2 cup matzo meal OR
2 large potatoes grated and drained
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon white pepper

Shred cabbage; soak in hot water 15 minutes, repeat; squeeze out water. Mix cabbage with all remaining ingredients. Turn into greased casserole dish. Bake in preheated 350° oven for 1 hour.

This is my all time favorite Clam sauce recipe. You can vary this as you like by adding additional ingredients.
